Default Amateur Top Gear Challenge (PIC HEAVY)

Well i thought i would let you know what we got up to this weekend.

It was my mates brothers stag do and instead of just going out and geting drunk like every other stag do - they decided on a top gear challenge.

The challenge was to arrive at a local carpark at 9am on Saturday 3rd April with a car worth no more than £500. My mate and i failed this as the car we were buying failed its MOT so i had to take my Vectra (or pace/camera car).

So this is what people turned up with -

Car 1. Honda Prelude 2.2 v-tech - Cost £500. Apparently they forgot to barter with the seller, they actually bought the car with the body kit on it. All they did was acquire a Toyota Supra spoiler on ebay and cut it down to size.

Car 2 - BMW E36 318i - Cost £200. Was originally white but covered in Orange vinyl wrap.

Car 3 - Toyota Celica 2.0 GTI 16. Cost £300. Only modification was Red strobe light on front, and the driver being known as Michael Knight all weekend.

Car 4 - The Camera Car - my Vectra

The first challenge of the day was to drive through Kielder Forrest Drive. Anyone who knows this road/path, realises that it is hard to drive - full of holes in the road, trees falling and about a foot and a half of snow this weekend. I drove around and met them at the otherside.

Next part of the challenge took place at an airstrip nearby. 0-60 times, timed lap up and town and timed with different drivers. We didn't spend long here as we didn't want ot get caught.

It was then lunchtime, so we went to 'The First and Last' in Otterburn.

We then drove on up to Hawick and eventually ending up at our hotel in Carlisle.

Next challenge was the water challenge. Everyone had a washing up bowl taped to the top of their car - and were told to drive out of the hotel car park, around the roundabout at the business park and back in. We then measured how much water was left.

We then went out for a night in Carlisle.

Today we woke up all hungover and needed our own beds. We decided to drive home via Hartside Cafe.

The cars have to now be sold to see if we can make our money back - look out on fleebay for careful owner cars etc.

    Cheers for Looking
