    Default On the subject of tyre safety

    Most of you guys will have already seen this, but for those who have not

    compares stopping distances in the wet at 75mph with 3mm tread and 1.6mm tread, the 1.6mm took an extra 30 ish meters to stop!!

    Great video, brings it home to you. Whilst there are others threads going on at the moment argueing whose car is fastest.........ummmm, Power is nothing without control.

    Tell that to the leasing companies who won't change tyres unless they are 1.6 to 2 mm

    I had that problem too when I had a company car....best advice is get them to come out to your place at work and normally after the effort of coming out with the relevant tyres they will swap them at arouns 2.5mm

    Every time i have tyres put on the company cars it is such a fight to get like for like all they want to do is put sh177y budget tyres on them but so far iv'e not lost and always had like for like refitted !!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

    Maybe it is the leasing companies that we use (well known major banks) but no problem with getting decent rubber fitted - it was just when........

    Also one of them -without telling anyone - suddenly decided that tyres would only be changed at Slo-fit, which is a pain.
