do you only want to change the screen or the whole media unit ?
Depends what you wish to do>
Looking at your profile, you have a 2005 full can vehicle with the CD prefix audio equipment. (This is identified by the fact that you have a CDTi engine )
If you are upgrading the screen only, then these are your available combination options
CD30 - Triple Info Display (with clock buttons on bezel) for base models
CD30 - Multi function Display - basic display without clock buttons on bezel
CD30 - Graphic Info Display - full display, with better overall display quality - should be standard on SRi models.
CDC40 Opera - Graphic Info display - Only screen option for this radio.
CD70 Navi - Monochrome Graphic Info Display - Basic direction arrows and symbols for navigation CD70 Navi - Colour Info Display - Colour display with full map capability.
(requires additional video lead for proper functionality).
Hope this helps.
Most radios and screens are plug and play, but do read other threads for checking that all necessary wires are fitted..especially for the optional DAB unit on the CDC40.
Also bear in mind the possible need for Tech 2 programming of components to each other and the car.
Still waiting to hear back from vx about getting my new CDC40 tech 2'd.....
But the GID doesn't seem to be standard on the SRI, remember mine's got that BID thing on it, yuk.
To the threadstarter tho, if you don't want DAB (which is turning into a saga) you could upgrade to CD70 with a CID (colour screen) as pretty much plug in and tech 2. Alternatively there's plenty CDC40's about and if you can find a GID to go with it that's a nice upgrade (that's the one I'm currently trying to do).
I recently bought some stuff off ebay so I can recommend some sellers if you're interested. Thing is to get the parts already freed up code-wise from the donor vehicle, so you can't just buy anything or it might not work. gotta be careful!
