    Angry Lack of Power

He we go again some of you might say!!
I have a 2004 CDTI 150 just over a week ago it started to loose power slightly so I changed the fuel filter (it was overdue), no difference. Then I looked on the forum and found the various known problems. Took out the boost sensor and cleaned it (not very well as all I had was paraffin) it made a slight difference for about a day. Yesterday took it off again and the EGR and cleaned both (EGR was filthy especially where it's located) with carb cleaner. Took it for a run this morning and it was worse than ever! Flat as a pancake until 2750 rpm when It would take of like a scalded cat. However the more I drove it the worse it got, after 10 miles spanner light came on and car wouldn't rev beyond 3250rpm whilst being driven but I could here the turbo! On the way home just turning into our drive lots of smoke for about 30 seconds then it cleared. Car on drive wouldn't rev beyond 3500rpm but no smoke. Switched it off and on again spanner light was off and car will now rev freely or so it seems. Haven't driven it for fear of making matters worse. When driven the car feels like it's being strangled. Is there something I have missed? It was also loosing power going up hills at 60mph in 5th when normally it would pull like a train!

if you look inside your drivers door there is a label and bottom left it should have, if fitted 0.50. i think that it is only signums and vectra estates that have them but check. if not it should read 1.20 ( my other 1.9 cdti reads this and has no dpf )

I been there and done that, it works for a while and then back to how it was. I had to have a new inlet and egr, problem solved, thankfully under warrenty. when you have done it take it down the motorway and drive above 60 and keep the revs high 3 or 4th gear this will blast alot of the krap out of the inlet and also if you have a dpf cause a regen.

egr clean thread - very good
