Default What Vectra?? if at all??

    Hi all,
I have been looking for a diesel 1.9 (150), but after reading up on here, it doesn't seem wise (looking at 56/07 reg).
I have now noticed a nice black sri 1.8 petrol. I guess this is 1.8vvt???

Which is the best choice to go for, if at all. Are there problems with the 1.8 vectra sri? Really wanted a diesel in the hope that the clutch problems would have been resolved ages ago. I drive the 1.8 Vectra (03), with the bad clutch judder.
No guilt trip about trading it in to Vauxhall, they can have it back the way I got it !!!!!! I told them and they said it was out of warranty, even though I had told them when I bought it. They said it was just because it was damp mornings.

I have really been put off Vauxhall. They seem to have no customer service at all.
On the whole the 1.8 petrol has been a good car though (apart from clutch). I think the rear suspension isnt up to the job though. Anyone agree??

Anyway, I am waffling, lol. Any probs with the 07 1.8's??

    Cheers.
    Kev.

Well thats encouraging Wondering if it will be quick enough for me. Mines ok I guess, but would prefer something quicker. I guess the sri version is faster than the standard anyway. Haven't done much research yet. I think mine is 122bhp.
I am not too clued up on cars these days.

    Vehicle : Golf 7

The 150 is fine, I personally dont sing their praises in terms of reliability but for me that where the issues stop. Ok the manifold issue yeah may crop up and if it does its not the end of the world - just a bit irritating as performance drops a bit.

But what these engines really have going for them is the pulling power and good mpg to match plus they do respond to tuning really well.

If the Reliability is a bit much you could always get a 120 and either box it or remap it to over 150 there you will get the performance minus the possible drawbacks.

No probs on my 07 1.8, now on 110000 miles and its to the red line every day. No smoke, uses no oil, sounds healthy.

    Thanks for the feedback chaps.
Looking at autotrader, the sri 1.8 is about £1000 cheaper than the 150 diesel. So I could offset that against fuel costs.
Do the 1.8sri/1.9cdti vectras have the clutch judder problems (dual mass flywheel) that was going about years ago? Mine judders a lot at various times. Sometimes it is fine.
Does the manifold issue cost a lot to fix?

Oh and no matter what trim you buy it in you still get the same 1.8 engine, sri's are no faster.
