I'm shure the question has been asked before but trawling through the threads I can't see any reference to it so here goes :-

I have aquired a CD70 and display both married from another vectra and I belive not tech2'd. I propose to fit to the same age 07 vectra sri will the trip computer work with the new unit and is the loom generic for fitting ?

    Yes and yes.

But you will need an additional loom between the display and CD70.

For the most part, wiring WILL be the same, however if you are going from a TID or MID, then you may need to check that you have two reds and two browns in the display plug. The basic displays have been known to have only one red and one brown.

Brown on pins 1 and 2
Reds on pins 3 and 5

If you only have one of each, then make up a link for each colour as described.

The functions of the CID will work, if they were already working in the donor vehicle...this includes BC functions.

    Conversely

If they weren't working before, then it won't work now.

If they are married to a previous vehicle, then have you got the audio pass number, as you will need this if you wish to change any settings.
Such as the check control functions (washer fluid level warning or tyre pressure sensor warnings, which may or may not be enabled)

    Cid is the colour display.

I can confirm 100% from experience that you do not need the code to change the code index or variant confguration settings with tech2
