    Default z22se T chain fix needed

    Hi Guys does anyone know of a garage/mechanic in the Colchester Essex area to fix my 2.2 vectra's broken Timing chain. ps i have the kit already. Many thanks

    If the chain has snapped,i'm sure it will need more than a timing chain kit to fix it,these engines are an interference fit,so if the chain goes,so do your valves,etc.

    Yes i understand that. Any idea at what i am looking at cost wise if say valves have bent? Thanks

    An Interference Fit, as it was put, Means that if anything goes wrong, the Engine components will Interfere with each other...as in touch...., When correctly timed the Rotating Parts miss each Other, if the chain has gone then the Valves will have stayed stationary (some in the open position) while the Pistons did their damage..

    If the valves are bent you might be better just getting another head (second hand) Have you looked on the 2.2 forum? There might be some heads for sale over there if needed plus the odd guy who could do the work.
