    Angry Bl**dy juddering steering wheel....!

I'd had the car a few weeks and I noticed the steering wheel juddering at around 65-80mph. I took it to Kwik Fit and had the front wheels balanced as I imagined it might be the problem. Didnt solve the problem at all. Spoke to a mate at work who said he had Kwik Fit balance all four weeks and that solved the problem...so I thought I'd do the same next time I got chance.

Just been to the Trafford Centre today with the lady friend and it's worse than ever, darn thing doesn't seem to want to go in a straight line, feels like I'm fighting it all the time, no greatly so, but noticeably.

I'm going to dive into the Yellow pages and try and find somewhere that does decent 4 wheel tracking and balancing in the Leeds area before I end up with vibration white finger

If you have only had the car a few week can you not take it back and get them to do it for free

tbh I'd not have the confidence that they'd do it properly. After all, if they had serviced it properly and checked it over properly prior to me collecting it, I wouldn't have the problem in the first place!

Check for a buckled alloy too!!! Especially the front. I had a buckled wheel and you would never have noticed till you were doing 50+ on the motorway. I took it to the local garage, got them to check the balance and then discovered the buckle. The wheel was then put on the back and i never felt it. Still took it to a specialist though to get fixed, as i didn't want uneven wear on the tyre

    Thumbs up

    Got it sorted now folks

...tried the local Alba Tyres in Leeds but it was closed on Sunday, so out of desperation went into another branch of Kwik Fit. Explained the situation and the chap on the counter was very helpful.

Turned out it was the back wheels, he said they were so far off balance that they'd likely be causing the juddering. I told him the dealers had fitted two new cheap tyres when they did the MOT, he commented they'd likely have just chucked them on and not balanced them.

I went straight onto the motorway on my way back home and no judder at all, well happy
