    Default HID's Direct

After having a couple of cheap ebay kits in the past on various cars i ordered myself a 50 watt hid kit 4300k after my ballast in the vectra decided to give up the ghost. Tbh i was expecting great things due to it being 50 watt and being " a better kit than ebay" due to the price and the fact it wasnt from ebay!

after putting it in and running standard halogens for a few days while the kit arrived i was truly unimpressed with the light output of the kit! it was the same 4300k as i usually use and yet it seemed dimmer than the cheap 35 watt kits off ebay i have had! There was no distinct line on the left hand side where there has always been one and the one on the right was very dim and there were dark patches all over the road which i have never had before!

just wondering really if anyone else has had the same problems?

I have contaced HID's direct who are going to take the kit back for testing! but tbh i would rather just have my money back if there is no fault found

    cheers

    graeme

Dark patches might be caused by the bulb as it has an element that runs parallel with bulb so casts a shadow, you need to turn bulb around so shadow is deflected upwards iirc

At least your getting better service out of HIDs Direct than I did. Ordered new HID bulbs "next day delivery" and they didn't dispatch them until I raised a PayPal dispute 10 days later. Rejected the delivery and PayPal got my cash back. Would never use them again.
