Default Passenger footwell filling up with rain water

Its tipping it down outside at the moment (good old england) and I've just gone to jump in my car only to find I have an in-car pond in the passenger footwell, its also wet behind the dash if you reach under... is this likely the front window seals gone ? Any idea of cost to fix ?

    cheers

check the drain hole under the windscreen baffle.

Lift bonnet and remove the rubber seal at the top along the back of the engine bay. The will probable be a lot of water in here as the drain hole blocks. use a long screwdriver or similar and find the outlet and clear the blockage.

This is a common fault and more likely than the window seal.

    Hope this helps

Thanks guys, just braved the rain to try my luck .. the scuttle cover thingy wont come off properly as its attached to the windscreen, it will however peel back.. problem i have is I can see the pool of collected water but I cant see the drainage hole.. dont suppose anyone has a photo ? I found one on this forum for the driver side but it wasnt clear enough for a rookie like me

    cheers!

Get your fingers in there honestly just peel scuttle up and get your finger in there and feel about you will soon find the hole then wiggle

the scuttle is attached to the windscreen as you say, you just pull it from the front and ease you hand in there and get a plastic cup and start scooping out the water. Once you have got the water out, unblock the hole , take your pollen filter out and dry out the area behind it, we must hope is has not killed your heater matrix. So dry it as best you can a replace the pollen filter

Hi I've just brought vectra 05 1.9 cdti Sri 2 weeks ago and my front passenger and rear passenger footwells are filled up with water , I have managed to get carpet up in front footwell but the rear is still damp , do you think my pollen filter was blocked at some point as clear now and never noticed water in footwells when brought car , I have dried out carpets but become wet again next day do u think it's water in car moving about have leak front the front somewhere as foam under carpet in front footwell is soaking and fan motor setting 1 does not work ....I have sat in car when it's been raining hard but can't see where water is coming from , I don't know if I have a leak or it's water from a blocked gutter before I brought the car please help ????

Follow the advice above mate & you'll clear it up. Pollen filter may need swapping for a new one by the sounds of it though.
