MOT and Chuffing Springs!!

Had the Vectra's 3rd MOT yesterday (car is a March 31st 2005 Vectra C Energy 1.9CDTi - 150.)

I knew I had a snapped driver's side front road-spring last May (when I was on holiday 6hrs drive away), and my dash was saying I had a duff side light...so knew I was expecting a fail.
I had already agreed to have the front spring changed and have an interim service for the MOT.

A couple of hours after dropping the car off, I got a call from her indoors.
"Dave at the garage has rung, he says the car's failed, the drivers front spring and BOTH REAR SPRINGS are snapped"!

So for the cost difference we had ALL 4 springs changed.

Didn't even notice any problems with the rears.

When collecting the car, I asked Dave if he had used VX springs...do you want to know his answer?
"No, they are crap"

Obviously I was happy to hear that he agreed with the forum's general concensus.

So a costly MOT and Interim service, but hopefully that's another 12 months happy motoring

At leat its all done mate should of bought some lowering springs mate

I would but Manchester has soooo many speed bumps, I'd be in fear of ripping my underside off..ouch!!

We aren't talking small speed bumps either...whoever decided to have these put on the road obviously is not a car driver, or if they are, then they drive a 4x4

Where there aren't any speed bumps, there are 20mph speed cameras instead.
Might as well move to Gibralter, if I have to drive at 20 mph everywhere (even over-night)
