Default Discovered RUST on one of my arches :-( Car is 55 plate

Discovered rust on one of my arches today when cleaning car :-( Didnt think it would start this soon as car is 55 plate vectra. Is there a corrision warrenty or is it just plain simple 3 year warrenty. If there is warrenty how do you go about chasing it up and whats the terms. If not how can i prevent it spreading. Thanks in advance

Think you may find its an anti perforation warrenty. it lasts for 12 years but the car needs to have had a body inspection. But as it's anti perforation there would need to be a rusty hole first

Mine is bubbling in the rear arches too (not rust just the paint flaking)

I'm going to have to get mine painted

    Anti-Perforation Warranty
Vauxhall guarantees new vehicles against perforation by corrosion of the bodywork and underbody, where it occurs as a result of defective materials or workmanship. The warranty applies for six years from the date of first registration except:
VX220 which has a 10 year anti-perforation warranty on the chassis.
Vauxhall offers an annual corrosion protection service which should be carried out regularly to maintain the validity of the warranty.
For full details of Vauxhall warranties including terms, conditions and exclusions, please refer to the Service Booklet with your Vauxhall.

as above and to clarify the corrosion has to be from the inside out - not the outside in --- so if its had a chip in the paint that has not been rectified and the corrosion is from that - it wont be covered

and as such will only cover the main chassis and not doors and boots and bonnets as these could have been replaced

you need to abrade and remove the rust to prevent it spreading - then clean and repaint the area - if you feel confident -have a go yourself = if not a bodyshop should be able to do the job for a "reasonable" cost

probably not -as could have been caused by a stone chip - best bet would be to take it in and let them inspect it and tell you what they think as they would be footing the bill - so to speak

It just on the lip around the quarter, it seems the paint has worn off. If i gently sanded it and put hammerite or something on it would that cure it or stop it from getting worse
