    Default Damn Snow!!!!!!!!

Went out for lunch today from work. Everything going good then heard this noise then windows started misting up. Turned fan up to 7 and put front window fan on, nothing. No air out of any of the vents on any of the speeds 1 to 7. Managed to get back to work, do a search on the forum for this type of problem and would you know it possible £180 quid fix for a signum 03 plate speed dual climate control resistor pack. WTF! Thanks to the snow probably leaking in I have to fork out money now. So after work going to check the tray make sure water is flowing properly if not un-block hole then take glove box off to check resistor and motor!! And its still snowing and freezing!!!

You might get lucky, My Climate Control stopped working just like yours during the snow earlier this year, checked and my hole was blocked....... Gave it a good poke with a stick and drained the water out. After a few days the Climate Control came back to life and I have had no problems for a couple of months now. I'd hold off before doing anything drastic or costly!

That's right, I was gutted when it stopped working and I too searched here for the reason and panicked at the costly fix! But thank goodness it only took a couple of days to rectify itself. Also another member had the same problem at the same time as me and his dried out and started working again too. You might just get lucky.

Well got home last night and checked the tray under the bonnet, full of water. Emptied this, checked passenger footwell under mat soaking with water. So basically water ad got into fan motor etc. Took the glovebox out just touched the fan and the air conditioning regulator under motor and water was present. So unscrewed the air con reg took it inside and dried it with hair dryer for a bit then left on radiator while I got a hair dryer out to the fan motor, done this for about ten mins making sure not concentrating in one place so plastic would burn. Put the air con reg back in place along with its two screws and the plug that fitted into it. Started the car up and bingo all fan speeds working and front window fan. thank god saved mysef £180 quid. Will be drilling holes in tray under bonnet when nice weather to stop this happening again.
