Default What is this pipe ? (pics included)

    Hey again,

Ive had some time off work so Ive been a busy bee round the vec.

Its running really well and today I took off the intercooler, checked it for leaks and cleaned it out with white spirit and a lot of shaking.

However I noticed a pipe that has a bung at the bottom on the lhs of the engine bay running down the side of the radiator pack. The top of this on my car is just open and seems to be missing the rest of it. There is a correct size clip on the lhs of the cam belt cover for what I presume is the rest of the pipe.

Can anyone identify it and if its ok as is, or am I just mad !

just looking at mine now and there seems to be a small rubber pipe running from that into the bottom of the airbox, right next to the front mounting for the airbox. You got that pipe on yours or is there an empty hole in your airbox opposite the cambelt cover?

    Ah Ha !

Cheers VM , found where this should go !

Seems to be a drain for the airbox. Mines missing the pipe so there is indeed a hole in my airbox.

Sorted ( bit of gaffa tape later)

I take it you got the aircon rad off ok in the end then. I was about to reply to your other post about bending the lug on the aircon rad to free it off then saw this post. I found it more of a problem to get all the rads back on together tbh but all done now. Just gotta get the bumper back on without dropping it but Ive come inside for a warm-up!
