if they did the crime then they can do the time -

very nice to have a new engine for nothing AND a free courtesy car of similar size until yours is sorted

    just an update,

1, i took the time to venture to the garage to take a look myself and well and behold they were trying to start it up with a new cambelt on and its timing is out thats for sure.

2, then to my amazment they were using clutch/brake cleaner to start it up, and of course i then saw red

3, then i have a phone call telling me they dropped a nut down the inlet manifold and the y.t.s fitter then decided to turn it over which then caused the belt to snap

4, ive now requested the car to go to another garage where whatever work to be done will be paid by the garage that wrecked it

5, i now await a hire car has today i was ment to be on my hoilday travelling down to somerset for the easter hols, but hey im still sitting at home waiting, any advise would be welcome

Ouch..... Anything making its way into the engine like that is not good, it's either jammed a valve open/closed, which would probably snap the cam belt.
Or it's popped straight down into the piston, which would break the cam belt, destroy the piston, the connecting rod, the crankshaft and probably crack the engine block.

The same thing has happened to me on my Westfield after a tuning company left the bolts lose on one of the K&N filters. It spat out a chunk of piston through the expensive alloy sump.

sounds like bull****!, they probably left the derv pump locked up after doing the manifold and tried to start it!. or had the old cam belt off to do the manifold and got the timing wrong + snapped the belt. NAME + SHAME so we all know not to use them!!!. COWBOYS.
