    Default EGR valve for Vectra 2004 LS dti

    My brother in law needs an EGR valve, for a Vectra 2004 LS dti.2 litre as far as I know.That's all I know about the car don't know the engine code.He's been given a price of £250-300 for a new one from the local motor factors,any info on were and what one to buy one on line would be app.Have looked at Autovaux but don't know which one..Cheers

    you can get them off ebay for around £215 ish. i would give it a good clean first, if you dont want to buy a new one maybe try and find a scrapyard with one in and give it a try.

    I checked on here about cleaning it but he then said the mechanic give it a clean but I don't know how good a clean it was,it didn't cure it anyway.What about Autovaux for the part ?.Does anyone know the engine code for this model.

    Y20 DTH is your engine code.
    As above with the cleaning the EGR first also what fault codes were raised to diagnose it down to being a faulty egr
    This is a common fault often brought on by dirty boost sensor,s split hoses , and perished vacuum hose connectors all are worth checking first before forking out for a new egr valve
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years
    and still loving it

    Defo give it a good clean first, i let mine soak overnight in some cleaning stuff. in the end it was not the egr valve that was faulty but the vacume flap

    Just checked his car again for codes with the U480...P0100 and P0400 Pending.cheers

    P0400 is EGR P0100 is MAF

    I'm gonna take the EGR out tomorrow for him and see how good a clean his mechanic give it,would the p0100 MAF give the same trouble,the mechanic didn't mention it to him.cheers
