Swapping stereo from one with ISO to new one with Quadlock

Was amazed yesterday at how many CD players were kicking around on jumble stands & have been wondering if it's possible to stick is it the CD30 which plays MP3 in where a CD2005 comes out.
I can make up a converter for the main part, power & speakers as I have loads of audio leads for phone kit installations kicking around but I don't know if the steering wheel controls are compatible & then is the screen also compatible does anyone know?

I know it'll be easier to get an aftermarket MP3 player but I like the OE look so may just have to get an ipod.

One thing that I said to a few of the guys with me, was that I bet they haven't been Tech 2'd out of the donor car. If they aren't Tech 2'd before they come out of the donor car, they won't work in any other car.

As for compatibility in a car that had a CD2005 (even if it was Tech 2'd before it was removed), I'm afraid I don't really know. I'm sure somebody will.

Didn't realise that, I'm sure the people who make the radio decoding software I used to use when I worked repairing car audio have developed something to get round this. Shall ask the guy I used to work for & find out out of curiosity.
