Not sure in your case. I have the 5W-30 petrol-engined version in my GSi and it seems good, from what I can tell. It's only been in two weeks, though!

You can do a lot worse that telephone Opie Oils and get advice for your specific vehicle from them. That's what I did.

    Thats only 10w40 I would go for a 5w40, 5w30,0w30 or 0w40 fully synth.

With that mileage if you use a 0w30 or 0w40 oil you may get some leaks esp. from the turbo seals if your on the original turbo.

I use Mobil 1 0w40 in my remapped 150 and at 81000 miles it's just begining to seep a little from the turbo seals overnight, characterised by a puff of blue smoke on startup from cold, and a small weep from around the vaccum pump.

It's just that it's so runny when cold it'll find it's way through the smallest of gaps.

This is why it's usually recommended to switch to a 10w40 once the car gets to a high mileage.

I'll be sticking to 0w40 for a long time yet.

My 91k DTi (boxed) was running on Castrol Edge 0w-30 and is now running on Mobil 1 0w40

There is a small trail of oil just at the inlet of the turbo but the car only uses about 500ml of oil over 10k

As for the CDTi's puffing blue smoke on startup, i've noticed alot of them do it.

One guy I know has a 58 plate 120cdti and the puff of blue smoke is quite a big puff for a car with 16k

Not to boast but i've never seen a DTi do it
