vectra radio help

hi all i just wondered if anyone knows if this is a common fault with vectra c radios/cd players.
i got in my veccy this morning started the car up but no sounds came out of my stereo .
so i pushed the button in and nothing nada zip.

It doesnt register on the trip computer screen , the volume button does illuminate when you put the lights on but apart from that its completely dead anyone got any ideas on how to fix it or is it a new stereo job

Could be a fuse or something, haven't got my manual to hand so can't check which one it is for you at the moment, but maybe someone else on here can tell you. Can't remember if there is a small fuse built into the stereo on the back near where it plugs in. Again, maybe someone else can give you a definate answer!

CDR2005 are well known for dodgy on/off buttons. Is it one of those ?

Yes its a cdr 2005 vdo, is it fixable?

It is - there are guys on here getting them done by local places for around £30. I couldn't find one, but used this lot on e-bay for £50. They fixed it and sent it back the same day they got it!

Its okay now i've sorted it
i think the button had slipped too far down and wouldnt push the metal switch in
so i pulled it off then put it back on and it works
