    he loves mondeos, i had 1, maybe sharper handling, slicker gearchange, but they are totally unreliable

    If you drive any front wheel drive vehicle the way that Clarkson drives , then it will behave as he described - usually in clouds of smoke. Vectras understeer as much or as little as the next car. It depends very much on how you drive it.

    Mine understeers as you would expect if you enter a corner too fast. Cars are set up this way for public consumption because it is safer than snap oversteer. If you enter properly, with the car set up, it will go through surpsiringly quickly. Simples.

    Clarkson drives like a tool! But he is right about the understeer and is entertaining to watch.
