    Default New 9-5 Dimensions

Saab have released details of the dimensions of their new 9-5, which is based on an Insignia platform with a 2.5" longer wheelbase (you'd think GM could have made a Signum replacement out of this longer wheelbase lol). Anyone know the corresponding figures for the Insignia, for comparison purposes? The base model 9-5 will weigh 1750kg, the top spec 2.8 V6 XWD will weigh over 2 tonnes . That's probably why Saab won't be using the 130 diesel, just the 160 and 190.

Are Saab still going? I thought they'd been ditched by GM and died? I'd really like to see a new 9-4 Sports Estate...

Thought they had been bought by the mad Dutch Spyker lot.
Perhaps GM are building stuff for them ???

Saved at the very last second by Spyker, helped by a loan from the European Investment Bank (underwritten by the Swedish Government). GM had even hired an outside company to handle the winding up of Saab, by the time the Spyker deal succeeded.

It is clearly an Insignia with a Saab makeover. Looks more executive car-like than the Insignia, and has some nice touches, but it is soooo expensive.

Interesting.... the 9-5 is only 2.5" longer in the wheelbase than the Insignia but 7" longer overall. Apparently it's as long as the standard length BMW 7 Series.

Should be interesting to see how these fair in respect of depreciation... may end up being a bit of a bargain at a year old??
