    Default 12s wiring...

    Hi Guys

i know that some of you must have 12s wiring on you Vec/signum...

I only have the Euro 7 pol one.. but going to change it to the Euro 13 pol (jäger)

I know that the "always" on wire goes to F23 in the rear fusebox..

But from where does the Ignition live to the 12s comming from? have you just "tapped" in? or run it from the battery with a relay and a fuse or?

About to fit a 13pin plug myself Ken. There's no OEM wiring point for pin 10 (although it is correctly earthed), the wire (yellow) on the supplied kit is just taped back on its self at the REC end of the loom.

Now on the UK 7pin 12s (p/n 93160573) kit the feed for both the 12v constant supply and fridge supply (via relay) from the same pin on the REC plug which seems to me a bit worrying due to the load involved, however this is the genuine Vauxhall kit so it must be able to cope. EPC does show an additional kit part number 93199335 (http://www.ifz-berlin.de/ins_pdf/93199335.pdf) and this takes the feed direct from the battery and then through a switching relay to supply the feed.

I think I'm going to take the feed from the REC as per the Vauxhall 12s configuration, then through a smart relay, which monitors battery voltage prior to switching feed to the fridge.

Well i wasnt worried about the livefeed.. as that must be okay.. (TIS shows that, it should go to fuse F23)

but then per the link you have shown here the ignition feed. straight from battery.. via relay.. funny TIS dont showthat (dosnt show anything for pin10 at all).

Well but i can see that it pulls the wires from underneath the car... (funny way i may say....)..

But ill think i make up the wires my self.. but might order that kit you have show here anyway.. mainly because the current wiring in mine just plugs in in the REC.. but dont have for reversing lights, and the Perm live an ignition live.. so i would be easy just to extend the livefeeds, and make a wire for the reversing light.. and then a new plug.

Do you have any idear about howmuch this wiring kit will be? and a 13 pin plug?

Not sure Ken, at work at the mo. I got my 13pin kit via car parts connexion for about £20. If I rember correctly from TIS the wiring to the REC is quite substantial, and if Vx take the fridge feed directly from the plug on the REC (same pin as continous 12 volt) it must be able to cope, I haven't heard any bad things about the Vx genuine 7 pin kits so far.

No nothing wrong with the 7 pin kit... except... not all things work on a Caravan or a trailer, when oem 7 pin fittet.. as the pin 2 is for rear foglights... and on most caravans here the pin 2 (on 7 pin) is made to livefeed.. but not on Vectra.... so power to caravan is only on when rear foglight is on.. (and i dont want to alter that.. as some trailers i use do have correct 7 pin).

so basic i just want the 13 pin (can you find another on there ) then ill make it work here my self then ill probaly use the addon wire... as i dont have electric seats.. i can use the power from those plugs to make it all work.... with the relay in that kit ect.

humm now ive been checking... (without taking the current wiring apart)

it looks like I either have to get the 13 pin wiring.. (13171360) and 93199335 (add on wiring) instead of what i do have (93171407), and change that..

Unless i can take out all the wires in the current 7 pin plug, put them in a 13 pin (that should be possible..) and then use the addon wiring 93171407, and the manualy extend them to the plug, and offcourse add the missing ground connections..

Now the big question.. is the 7 pin module differnt to the 13 pin module....

The modules are the same, there's variant to differentiate between the two on Tech 2. Obviously you could modify your existing plug but it could turn into quite a task as you'll need 12/13 core cable anyhow to supply the correct amount of earths as well as certain wires having a larger cross section to supply the load for the fridge/battery. I'd go for the kit option Ken, keep checking over here and if you spot one let me know and i'll sort out for getting it across to you.

isnt it allowd just to add wires? or is it nessasary to use it in 1 cabel? as i could just add the missing 5 wires.. wouldt be that much but i know the price here is NOT cheap.. if i know my dealers correct...
