    Default Computer security..?

My Kaspersky internet security is about to expire in 13 days, where is the best place to buy the 2010 set up - or does anyone else have reccomendations about what software to try this year??

    Cheers

If you're going for free stuff then Microsoft Security Essentials paired with Zonealarm or Windows 7 Firewall Control (additional software) is pretty good and best of all.... free!

Personally, having used most of the well known security packages, I still think Kaspersky is one of the best.

The Works, book shops have 3 license Kaspersky 2009 in some of their shops for only £7.99, it can be upgraded on line to the 2010 version FOC.
It's also on offer at a few other places at £19.99 PCWorld were doing it recently at that price, but unsure if still available.

Play.com are also doing it for £11.99. see the following for details. The Works deals are also on there.

I have used a few and have stuck with Avast (free edition) over the last 3-4 years with no issues.

you will get many opinions on security software ie this one is great that one ir rubbish and so on so i'll put my tuppence worth in and say iv been using the newer norton internet security (less resource draining) and am in my second year and found it works well

i also have a laptop using avast free internet security and that is doing just as good a job

I've used Kaspersky on various PCs and the PC load on a mac for the past few years. Each time it expires I have found a retail version of the new version much cheaper than the Kaspersky renewal offer. Shop around the likes of Amazon or Ebuyer for the best deal.

Ive used them all too over the years had the same as you Steven last year but was pretty dissapointed that it let a few bad and well known things through its defences, this year ive went for Zone alarm internet security suite which hads won tons of awards and has a vey good firewall too, drop me a pm and i will give you a link to where i got a 3 pc licence with 70% off
