    Default DCP Tuning Review

Here is a full review of the remap that I got done on my 2005 Vectra 1.9 CDTi (150). It was done by DCP Tuning who are based in Birmingham and will come to you to map your vehicle.

I set up the Remap via email and had all my questions answered before I made my mind up and booked it in choosing the day and a rough time.
On the day I received a text from the guy coming to do it 2-3 hours before telling me what sort of time he will be arriving. He arrived when he said he would (in his own tuned BMW estate ).

He set to testing the vehicle to find out what is already on the ECU and started asking me what sort of map I would like (Economy, Eco/Power, Full Power). I chose full power map and then he asked where I would like the power going and what sort of day to day driving I do. I chose to have full power between 2000 - 4500rpm. I was told that the car protects itself when it's cold and holds the power back. He was finished mapping after about 30mins and then said it was time for a test drive.

During the test drive he told me to take it to 4500rpm and then bring it down and stop the car and turn off the engine and then restart (helps everything to learn the new map). I got a good 10-15mins drive around with him by my side before taking the car back home.

When it was back we left the car to tick over and he tested it again to make sure there were no faults and that the map was working correctly. Then came the money, £240 cash, card or cheque.

Now that was the full procedure that I went through. I had to take it for a drive to pick up the other half from the station and I gave it a good test along the way

The car now pulls straight from 1500rpm and will keep pulling and peak out at 4500rpm. instead of the usual 2800rpm. But not only will it keep pulling it is VERY smooth in delivering all that power. Dare I say it the way the car drives is like a petrol now. You can change down a gear and put your foot down and your head will explode

Cruising along at 30mph in 3rd gear (1700-2000rpm) and when you reach the de-restricted you can put your foot down and it will pull smoothly all the way to 4500rpm then change gear into 4th (2800-3000rpm) and there is still MORE power there

You have to be very mindful of your speed when you get this done because you will reach the national speed limit very quickly and the car will learn the map over time and get even better (after 50 miles of so of driving).

I would recommend DCP Tuning to anybody, very friendly service, lifetime guarantee and updates and ONLY £240.

Thanks for reading, hope this helps some of you decide

Birmingham, but they come out to where ever you are (work, home, friends house etc...) doesn't matter.

Sounds like a good job, however 30 mins to fully develop a good map is extremely quick!

I wonder why they offer three different maps when the "full power" maps are supposed to improve economy too?

On a more sombre note. The gearbox on my friends remapped Astra CDTI 150 has cried enough. Although he should maybe have sorted out the rattly DMF a long time ago.

To be fair, he did say that he'd done about 5 150's this week

It wasnt a criticism, If you have a similar file with similar hardware and software codes then you can match up a tuned file quite quickly.
