Default and you thought dealerships / Arnold Clark were expensive for servicing!

Got a quote from blackcircles.com for a "full service to VX specification" on my 2005 Vectra SRI 3.0 V6 CDTI (as per their recent email offer)

    Service to include :
oil to GM-LL-B specification, 8.25 litres
    oil filter
    air filter
    fuel filter
    brake fluid change

"The cost of the whole service including the break fluid change is £298.86
This cost is built in and includes parts labour and the VAT
Let me know directly how this compares to what you would normally pay for all the
below and we can see what we can do"

    ====

VX normally charge me just £165 (plus VAT) / £194
Even adding a brake fluid change to that, at about £50, that quote is at least £50 more!

    Default

Not on a 3.0 V6 CDTI at that price though!
The cheapest they can do is £175, but that does not include the use of GM-LL specification oil or fuel filter

    edit :
I've just noticed that the quote is missing "pollen filter", but it is included

National do an oil (Castrol Edge) and a filter change for £35 - which is £10 cheaper than it costs just to buy the oil itself

    Vehicle : Opel Signum

    Trim : Sport

    Engine : 3.0 CDTI

    Year : 12/03

    Default

    7.25L not 8.25L mate.
I would service it myself. Dealers charge way too much for an oil/filter change.

I changed the oil on mine with Mobil 1 5w-50 oil, Bosch oil filter, fuel filter, pollen filter and air filter for a grand total of 130€(£116). I could of got the 5w-30 GM-LL oil for 65€/10L but decided to try a high performance oil this time.
