    Default in-car CCTV

Following a muppet in a Merc taking my wing mirror off, denying liability, lying about where the accident happened and threatening me with legal action, I am looking to invest in in-car CCTV (to cover the road not the interior of the car).

Can anyone recommend a system? Been looking at the Roadhawk RH-1 but wondered what alternatives are out there?

    cheers

You also need to display a sticker to show people that your car has cctv, this is what ive been told as i wanted to install it into my signum.

£199 for forward facing only, £389 for front and rear.

This does seem to be the one to get, I've seen a couple of cheaper options and they don't seem to be anywhere near touching the RoadHawk.

yeah and the way I see it after my experience with the muppet Merc driver is, it'll save me my £200 excess (paid for itself already) a lot of hassle and increased premiums in the future so even at £200, I'm thinking money well spent.

hi i was thinking of this years ago and was going to go the 12v video route and a small camera like a reversing cam u could buy a cheap dvd recorder and use a power inverter and a reversing cam and put the recorder in the boot

ok, I've taken the plunge and ordered the RoadHawk. Can someone recommend somewhere to take a live from (one thats only on when ignition is on). I already have my Parrot soldered onto the cigrette lighter socket and it makes the connector slowly slide down and every so often I have to take the ashtray bit out and push it back on. Is there an alternative place I can wire the camera into? cheers

If the roadhawk is the little unit I'm thinking of, the best place to mount it is up near the interior mirror pointing out through the windscreen, you can then take a feed from the interior lights too and it's all pretty discrete.
