Default My 150 CDTI Veccy ain't going over 2,000 revs :( What could be the problem?

    Hey guys

Since yesterday, it shows up with a service light on dash and then doesn't rev over 2,000 revs. It happened yesterday whilst driving. I parked on the side. Turned the car off and on, it was all good then. Today just now, it did same again. Turned the car off and on about 3-4 times the car being off for about 5 secs each time made no diff. Drove to petrol station to check tyre pressure, turned the car off, checked pressure and back on and it was perfectly fine. What could this be?

Also tyre pressure on standard veccy alloys and tyres ie 215-50-17, what should the tyre pressure be?

    Cheers guys

It seems to be going into Limp mode then.... could be worth removing the box and see if it stops, could be causing some fueling errors.

The car and spanner light isn't a service light its limp home as mentioned above. (limp home is a secondary ecu program so the car runs on bare basics, no turbo, cruise etc to get home/to a garage) Could be a few things causing it. Best way is to get the codes read at the dealers and go from there.

Also your tyre pressure should be on the tyre itself. I'd guess around 36psi ish.

I have been getting this problem with my car,but i get it as soon as i slow for a roundabout after driving along for a few miles and go to accelerate from the roundabout again,i have checked the fault code and it has come up as P1109,which is to do with the swirl valves actuator.

I already have a new inlet manifold with swirl actuator ready to go on,as soon as i get a new gearbox

    As for your tyre pressures
    Saloon/hatch 1.9 cdti - front = 33 psi rear = 33 psi - with up to 3 persons in the car
and front - 35 psi rear 42 with a full load

Estate - front = 33 psi rear = 33 psi - with up to 3 persons in the car
and front = 35 psi rear = 42 psi with a full load

its just a shame they're so unreliable because the first six months of owning this car and it was running how it should it was a plesure to drive, just a pity of the last two months running like a bag of s**t..

The car is perfectly fine now, drove all day yesterday and no troubles. If it starts again, I will get the code read up and see what it says

I did check on the website about it but it stated the tyre size doesn't matter... the car and its weight is what determins the tyre pressure. Currently they on 32psi but seem bit low. Going to get them at 34/35 now.

    Thank you for help
