    Default battery wont charge!!

hi, this morning the battery on my 05 vectra sri cdti was dead, even after using jump leads to start it a couple of minutes later it cut out.

so ive been and bought a brand new battery and fitted it, battery light still on the dash and me being dumb just drove it anyway and covered 60 mile before loosing all power again

ive checked to make sure the alternator belt is still on, maybe alternator??

any help or advice would be great thanks

    Default Alternator

It's defo an alternator i'm afraid, mine went a week ago and I fitted a new regulator myself and it did not work.
The three phase windings internally burn out.
These alternators are rated at 105amp and seem to be underated for the vectra.
    Good luck.
As for the ebay alternators, I think they are exchange units and some require you to use your own drive pulley which you need a special tool to remove. I was able to get a brand new unit for £150 so it's worth shopping around.
