    Default egr valve

    i am sick to death of cleaning out my egr valve therefore thinking of buying a new one from the stealers, does anyone know if the new ones have been modifyed in some way to correct the problem.
    also i would love to hear from anyone who has brought a new one if they have had any further problems with it as i dont wanna waste any more time or money

    Cleaning or replacing the EGR wont solve your problem!, i don't think anything will, But Ive just put a new inlet manifold on along with the fiat semi-blanking EGR gasket, I have also put injector cleaner into a tank of BP ultimate diesel, I'm now going to run it on this or SHELL v-power, I will also put the cleaner in at intervals to see if a cleaner burn with this combination gives less hassle with the EGR!!.

    Two in different places lol

    Ebay http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...ght=signum+fog alot cheaper.
    But then unplug it and you aint got any problems, light on the dash but no limp, no stuck swirl valves, no need for a new one again, oh and turbo spools quicker, and more power.

    will having the egr valve disabled cause the car to fail the mot on emissions

    I have just had my first egr at 143,000 miles,also having new inlet manifold!!!

    I would presume that your car does or has done mainly motoway miles ?, people doing a lot of stop / start driving seem to have the most problems.

    you would presume right m8 do alot of motorway miles..
    having inlet manifold done now as well..
    noticed the swirl bar had broke off completely..

    If removing the cat is ok, i doubt mapping out the egr will be a fail
