intermitant starting problems

hi there in need of help please, the other morning i went to my car (sri cdti 150 55 plate) as normal unlocked it with the remote pushed button twice for full unlock, put the key in and turned, waited for plug light to go out and then turned then nothing, it did not even turn over, so i tryed jump leads and still nothing so i tryed to bump off and that did not work. But then i decided to try the key again and it worked started first time with no probs and since then it did it again this morning, completely baffeled, any ideas please.

have you checked that the battery leads are on tight fella

yes all checked and had amp metre on battey

I spoke to a friend of mine about getting a new key for my car,as i've only got the one key,a three button normal key.
When i said i wouldn't mind a flip key,he said they are more reliable

I never thought to ask why
