I would imagine that the Insignia name will stay now. It's like what Ford did, the Sierra name was never really popular after the Cortina, so when they built the all new car, the Mondeo name was given to separate it from the past.

GM have done this now with the Insignia, as as the car has been so well received, I would think the name will stay for the next replacement.
