Yes iirc you will need the cancellors. If yours is half canbus you will have 3 buttons on each side of the steering wheel. Scroll wheels means its full canbus.

Some HID kits have the cancellors built into the ballast boxes, some don't. All a matter of where you buy them from.

im assuming from your answer above that my 2004 1.8 ls, with 3 buttons on either side of the steering wheel is a half canbus & that i wont need any cancellers if & when i fit hids?

ALL Vectra's have canbus system, just the amount that it interferes with systems such as lighting and especially the infotainment system varies.

BUT ALL will need HID cancellers, as the headlights, sidelights etc are all controlled by the Can-Bus sytem (UEC - underhood electronic centre).

Full can systems control all lighting, ignition logic and infotainment via the canbus sytem, whereas half canbus has some analogue control of the infotainment system and light dimming, ignition logic

Half can is vehicles from 2002 to September 2004 (radios are CCR, CDR, NCDC and NCDR prefix)
Full Canbus is October 2004 to Winter 2008 (Radios are CD20, CD30, CDC40 Opera, CD50, and CD70 Navi)

    hope that helps.

I put some 50w 4300k HIDs in mine and didn't need the canceller box. They work really well.
