    Default power steering warning light!

a friend has an opel vectra 1.6ls. today she asked me to have a look as the power steering warning light had came on. i thort it must be the fluid level, so checked it, it was on min line so toped up, but its still on. there doesnt seem to be any visible leaks, or signs of dripping oil and no funny noises when turning. i done a quick search and there seems to be a couple of possible problem areas that could cause this the CIM, alternator and power steering temp sensor??

does anyone have any ideas where to start befor i send her to Vx?

    cheers, mick.

has the power steering gone altogether ?????????
also could be the pump or the steering rack ..
    needs a code read
if steering is ok then could just be a faulty sensor

yeah the steering is still good. i think she is going to get the codes read from a friend with some sort of reader, im not sure exactly but he has a garage. i will try and find out what the codes are if she gets the read.
    cheers, mick.
