Default what springs help needed sri

hi all i have just found a snapped spring on my 2006 vectra sri estate 1.9cdti

question i have is the standard ride height of the sri at the moment is good and seems low but not too low which are the best and cheapest aftermarket springs to go for

or is it better off gettin them from vauxhall dealer and getting orginal sri springs

as i dont want to get normal springs that will make the car look like a monster truck thanks

hope you can help asap thanks

    hi,
I just went through a local motor factors for both my new front and rear sri springs as mine had all snapped. Cant remember the name off the top of my head but they seem so far 'touch wood' to of lasted a while. Just make sure you get the ones for a lowered sports chassis (i think thats the name) as they arent called sri springs. mine were £70 ish for the pair.
    good luck

i have decided to go for the eibach pro springs at 160quid for the 4 springs its better than vauxhalls 210 quid for just the fronts

have any one used these i will see a drop of around 10-15mm which is not alot really plus i never carry any heavy loads in my vec estate

whats your guys thoughts on this

lots of people have the eibachs and are amazed by the improved ride quality on fitting - they are much better than the standard springs -

getting my eibach springs tomoro so i am going to fit them 2moro too and report back my findings.

are the rear spring on the vectra estate easy to replace is it just a case of rear axles on stands then compress the springs and take them out????

    cheers

The Eibach's do drop the car a bit and you will probably have no scraping issues unless you went for the 01 suffix on the end which is for the lighter axle weight.
I could do this since I reduced my front axle weight by replacing the battery with a GEL type which is only 2/3rds the size of the original and many Kg's lighter, BUT I do ocasionally scrape the front.

One thing about the Eibachs is that even when you do load the car, they compress much less than the standard springs and you don't really notice the car drop so don't worry about it.

Whilst your replacing the springs, I would recommend replacing the shocks as well with Bilstein B4's, many members on here will testify to the improved handling and still comfortable ride with these.
