Default Evans Halshaw, any advice/where to go from here?

I'm really looking for advice as to what to do or what I can do in regards to my rights.
I picked up my vectra 2.2dti sri 03 last Tuesday and the same night whilst fitting new mats I noticed that it was soaking wet in the back footwell. The car was in their new Runabouts range of affordable secondhand cars and came with a 30 day warranty so I phoned the salesman the next morning and he asked me to bring the car in which I couldn't do till today.
Anyway he checked the carpets to confirm that it was really wet and so because the manager wasn't available told me he's going to talk to him and get back to me but did say "I'm going to have to fight you're corner" as if to say he didn't like my chances.
This is the first time in my life that I've bought a car through any kind of dealership and have probably paid more for the privelege. I love the car and would happily keep it should they sort out the leak which they should have noticed surely?
Anyhow the car filling with water making it impossible to wash would surely class as being faulty and as the leak was not brought to my attention when I viewed it where do I stand? I don't want a car that's full of water and will eventually lead to more problems. So if they should refuse to sort the fault can I hand the car back and have my cash refunded? I know the water is not a warranty issue but it is a fault and therefore I've been sold faulty goods so what can I do within my rights to get this sorted.
At this moment in time I've not heard from the dealership as I only recently left there so right now I'm not saying they're not going to resolve the problem but I'll keep this thread updated as things happen.
If anyone has any advice or have had a similar situation please let me know and if you have any ideas about the right way to go about this then please please let me know what my options are.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

kdadidog, I've checked the basic stuff like that from reading on this website. That wasn't what I was getting at I need to know what I can do? It's not my job to start pulling the car apart to find a leak.

ok...then demand it to be sorted out and do not leave the dealers till it gets done. also threaten them with the 30 day cooling off period you should of been given by the dealer.

30 day cool of period? Is this a legitimate law/regulation that I'm entitled to?
