Default Potential purchase just after your thoughts.

Ok folks have seen a Vectra SRI turbo with following:

    55 reg face lift
    44k on clock
2 owners with full vaux service history (one owner being vaux).
Sat Nav model with front and rear parking senors etc plus the usual
    Silver

    Up for 5990.

I am taking a small loan to buy the car (potentially) and shall pay this off within 12-18 months; so figured take finance from the company and use it to bargain on price.

They also offer extended warranty 1yr at 300, 2 yr at 500, and 3 yr at 700 (please excuse lack of pound sign child messed with keyboard and now it can not be found).

Was thinking of negotiating price and getting warranty free or massively discounted.

Any thoughts? Any recalls I need to check for on this particular car? Anything I need to check the warranty covers like fuel pump etc.

    Cheers.

you can check for recalls on your model here as well mate

    http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/reca...lt.asp?tx=VOSA

can't advise on the price but it seems ok.. the engine in that model is one of their best and very tunable.. the springs on the vec are notoriously crap so you may want to get them chnaged soon....

you will be better of getting a personal loan at lower rates than a garage which will then give you batering power on paying cash /with px
this way you will have a better and cheaper chance to pay off the loan sooner potentially without an early settlement clause imposed and as such if the vehicle was then sold on earlier it would not show as having finance outstanding
