    Default headlights?

I have the chrome headlights that came standard with my sxi....I want the sri smoked ones but looking at the how2 it can be done by spraying the chrome.... but the how2 looks difficult envolves cutting very carefully which I'm not good at....

cant the headlight cover just be removed... looking at the lights it kind of looks like a case of removing them, remove the seals and jsut popping the cover off, then I have access to the chrome surround? is this the case?

Yes, the lense part comes away from the rear. then the chrome slips out...

If you have access to an electric oven it makes the whole process 10 times easier

    haha why the electric oven?

so I can just remove the seal, then unclip the cover?

that will be next weekends mod I think.... simple enough it sounds... I guess it wont be as per usual something will go wrong!

The lens is glued on mate, the electric oven is to soften the glue.

If you heat them up on a low heat it'll come away very easy... I put my MK4 astra lights in there at 50'c for half hour - turn occasionally, for fan assisted ovens please see manufactures handbook

ahh so cooking them helps... so about 40'c for half hour should soften them up enough to pull away? then I can just re seal it with sealent?
