i had a fiesta that i had before it only had 14k on the clock with 1 granny owner i lowerd it with just spring i thought it made it worse so this time round with the vectra i dun shock n springs a few other componets felt like new get the shocks to blisteins i wud recomend
In the past i've lowered cars but never more than 30mm and have got away with just springs, but anything over that and i i would say change the shocks too.
I'll be lowering my sri soon but as it is 15mm lowerer than a standard vec i'll only be going down another 15mm so i'll just be using eibach springs.
All the best
John
Depends on the mileage the cars done, Brandnew = just springs upto 30mm, Over 30-40k on the clock = Shocks and springs always. But 40mm drop, Probably need shortened shocks as the piston will be operating in a range that its not designed to so will bounce like one of my cheques... Booooooooooooing
Mines 88k and the shocks were all foobard, One of the rears had actually popped and was doing absolutly nothing.
Anything more than 30-35mm drop needs shortened shocks 100%

okay cool... so shocks as well!.... now for which ones? whats the best ones to get, shocks and springs? blistein shocks? Money is an object... but i'm not going to buy crap! Still want something decent, but not overly expensive.... my cars done 39k, doing about 700 miles a month, but just around town, not much motorway driving etc!
Bilstein B4's are good quality shocks and in stock at Euro carparts near Bletchley, I would say Eibach springs but there are others as well.
Had mine all fitted last weekend, drives superb now.
you'lll have to help me with mine!
Ok i have a habit of hijacking threads lately, but it saves opening a new thread when one exists. I am ordering 45/40mm PI springs for my 2003 1.8LS, so which Bilstein shocks will i need, and is the spings & shock absorbers the only 2 things i will need?
thats two of my threads you've jumped in on
its okay... i'll just absorb the answers and the one day i'll know what im talking about!
