    Exclamation Alternator Failure

Hi guys my alternator has failed with only 45000 on the clock I have heard that there may have been a recall on the veccy alternators for 2004 models, can anyone confirm this as a new one is £115-£160!
Also has any one had the same problem and changed the regulator or rectifier units?

Mine & 2 of my workmates 2006 company cars all failed at about the same age/mileage which was just over 2 years & 60,000 (just out of warranty)

Mine failed at 38000 and its a 56plate Facelift and 1 month out of warranty at the time but there was no goodwill gesture and a bill for £480 of the dealers but it was a brand new alternator that was shipped in on a urgent basis from Germany

    Thumbs up Fixed!

    Thanks for your replies lads!
I changed out the regulator which cost me £30 but it did not solve the problem so I had to go ahead with a new alternator for a quick repair but i could have obtained a rectifier pack for the old unit also which could be a project for the future.
    Thanks
    Edd
