Help with disappearing car!

I traded my Vectra 1.8vvti exclusiv in to a dealer in Leyland a couple of months ago and it was soon up for sale at their site.A few weeks later it had dissapeared from the site and going on www.askmid.com confirmed it had been insured.

Just out of curiosity i entered the reg number again a few weeks later and the database said it wasn't insured.Strange

.So being a nosey begger i went to the dvla website and entered the details there.The website came back that the car doesn't exist

I know its got nothing to do with me(i received the comfirmation back from the dvla stating that i didn't own the car anymore),but any ideas as to what has happened to it?
Do you think its been writen off?
Are there any other web sites i could check?(without cost!)

I'm just curious

Exported.... de-registered and stripped for parts.... destroyed..... de-registered and used on MoD range for target practice... re-registered on private plate..... who knows....

if you know the chassis number I can hpi it for you tomorrow and see what it says.
Its not the full check but i have access to it through software we use at work to help i.d parts such as clutches pads etc

Thanks for the offer petel,but i don't have the chassis number anymore.Thanks for your all your other replies.Its most probably been put on a private plate.
If anyone sees it(its one of the only panacotta veccys to have a spoiler) then let me know.
