    Default any idea what the problem is???

    well 2 problems
    1.... water getting into passenger footwell after washing car . where is it likely to be coming from

    2.... finding it a bit stiff when changing into first and third gear any ideas?

    for any one willing to help its an 02 vectra 2.2sxi,
    1.. clutch seems fine
    2.. door seals look ok

    common 1 is pollon filter , the drain hole is prob blocked with dirt and leaves

    sorry cant help on number 2

    thats a good point i noticed there was soap and water building up below windscreen. didnt put two and two together. now i hope its just a case of finding, and poking into drain hole,,

    depending on what gearbox it is the f40 boxes were bad for gears being sticky or awkward to get into gear, vauxhall solved the problem on mine by draining out over 3 litres and refilling with 2 and a half, (sorted mine)

    open the bonnet and ake the rubber seal off open the panel up and you will see your pollen filter just use somat to poke the drain hole, hope this helps there is a how 2 on here i think

    the drain hole is just to the right of the pollen filter, check that your filter is ok if wet replace, also check to see if your heater is working properly, this water ingress can cause you heater fan to not work on number 1,2,and 3 but works on 4 . If your lucky you might of caught it in time.

    To be honest mate if you're thinking of gearbox being topped up , I guarantee they won't do it as part of the service, they never seem to check these things!! might be worth specifically asking them to do , also your problem might be down to the linkage at the gear lever where the joints may be dry and need lubing.

    Clutch blend at the stealers will sort the gears.
