Default Visit to CCS and Two Insignia's!

After having the exhaust done this morning, I took a drive over to see Steve at CCS. Steve's Insignia SRi was there as well, so took a few pictures of both the cars together.

Steve's is also due in any time to have the dual exhausts done.

Whilst there we measured the difference in suspension height between the SRi and non SRi models.

The SRi sits 7/8mm lower at the front and the rear was the same.

It makes me think that as we know the SRi has the sports chassis, do the rest of the range have the sports chassis when the 19" wheels are specified.

It certainly looks like it does. As mine is pretty firm and sits about the same as Steves.

if you spec the wheel option are they fitted at the factory or the dealer?,,,
and if at the factory would it not be built to car spec(ie SE,SRi,s,etc),,unless the flexride is added as an option,,,just thinking out loud ,dont shoot me down LOL,,,

If you order a car with the 18", 19" or 20" wheel upgrade it is all done at the factory and the chassis number takes into account the build spec.

Although the SE comes with 17's as standard, 18's are no cost option and 19's are a cost option, you have a sticker on the inside of the door sill stating wheel size and tyre size that car came with at the factory.

    Example :-

SRi = 17's, 18's no cost option, 19's cost option and 20's cost option.
SE = 17's, 18's no cost option, 19's cost option.
Elite = 18's standard and 19's cost option.

The lower models also have costed wheel upgrades but I can't remember what.

Although all SRi's have sports lowered chassis, if you have the 19" wheel on the SE or Elite, you also get the sports lowered chassis as part of the wheel upgrade.

Flexride is option on all models except 2.0T and 2.8T which have it as standard.

    Hope this answers your question.
