    Default Improved mpg

Hi all removed my screen and air vents to add some foam tape around the edges as i was getting a buzzing sound from that area, all fitted and test drive later buzzing gone. As i now know by removing and unplugging the screen i lost all my trip data. So drove to work today and ave mpg was sitting at 48 mpg, but i do know it will settle back down a bit, driving back home from work it dropped to 45.5 nearly my usual mpg, on the counrty road i use i was forced to drive in 3 gear most of the way due to drivers being scared of wet roads and was sitting at 30 mph and my mpg shot up to 47.8 and continued the rest of my journey home in 3rd gear to test and sure enough it stayed at 47.8 mpg. Is 3rd gear the best gear to be in at 30 mph seems to be. 150 sri

I always find to get the best MPG, you need to be in a gear that still pulls with the slightest of pressure on the accelerator - not just sticking it in 5th....
