check the dates on the components, they should be all "about" the same date and that is the date of manufacture.

The VIN has the year of manufacture in it (digit 10, an alpha code, Y=2000, 01=2001........A=2010 and the as said you can look at various bits to see if they are dated.

Don't know whether Vauxhall make the same information availible, but for a Ford you can log onto Etis and enter either the registration number or the VIN and it gives you details of not only when it was built and registered but the full build spec.

Came in very handy when I was buying my current car.

When i ordered my new veccy I had to wait around 14 weeks for it to be built, to the spec I ordered, and when I ordered my last Shogun Warrior that was also built to the spec I ordered it took around 11 weeks to be delivered, Aren't most of the cars you see stockpiled standard model / spec cars built for fleets and rental companies??

if mitsubishi are anything like honda they dont make cars to order, they make cars of all specs and colours and store them,as soon as you place an order they will usualy have the car ready to dispatch to the dealer,if none are available you will have to wait till the next batch is made
