Power Steering Cut Out

Got a 2.0T which seemed to be running a little low on rpm over the past couple of days, just doesnt feel right idling (a little vibration through the car at idle) today started up as normall still the vibration, trouble free drive to work. Went for lunch ps steering light on and NO power steering at all , parked, switched off and on and steering normal again, is something on its way out??? Help please!!!

I had this when my battery was on the way out, the power steering is driven by an electric pump which takes a lot of current, if there is insufficeint voltage then the control unit cuts out the steering pump. It may be that if you are experiencing low revs the alternator is not charging the battery sufficiently after starting.
