Default headlight's done in a fuse i think

Hi. Tonight i put my headlights on (aftermarket HID's) and the offside lit up then went out.

I got home and swapped ballasts to no avail. I also checked the bulb by hooking it up to the nearside and it worked so its no fault of the HID kit.

It appears that a fuse is blown. Can anyone help me find the offending fuse? Its a 2003 2.2dti.

The manual i got with the car is for a facelift and there is only one mention of a headlight fuse. Iirc there should be one for left and right dip beams in most cars

    Many thanks

UPDATE... I know there are no replies to this but i have found the problem and i'm going to docoument this for anyone's future reference.

The canceller capacitior from my HID's direct kit has failed causing the nearside lighting control module to trip. There is only one fuse on the headlight circuit which is a 10amp fuse 8 in the fuse box beside the battery. If anyone has similar problems and fuse 8 is fine the likelyhood is that one of the modules has tripped. Simply disconnect the battery for a few minutes and the module will reset itself and the circuit will re-gain power.

Next a phone call to HID's direct as my kit is only three months old. Has anyone had to return a kit to them before? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you Keithy for that little bit of info.

I have just fitted my HID kit and EXACTLY the same thing happened, removed canceller fitted just ballast and bulb to other side and hey presto, remove battery and HID's work perfectly, albiet without cancellers

    Cheers M8
