    Default The cambelt....

Any way to check if its been changed?

    1.8 LS

I got the car with 62k on the clock, now done 70k.... I was under the impression that it was supposed to be changed at 40k, and as it had the full dealer service history (being an ex fleet) I assumed the cambelt would be done at 40k.
Im sure the service book/info said to do it at 40k!

But recently ive been hearing it should be done at 60k..... So there's a chance it's not been done! (in my book)
I want to get it done soon, but is it "emergency soon" or just "soon"?

I would just get it done mate, at least you will have peace of mind. The only way to check if it does not say on paper work would be to get your fingers dirty and get the spanners out.

Just get it done! its not worth the cost if it snaps.

Also, the interval on the vec is 60k iirc but the same engine in the astra is 40k, go figure!

You could call the garage who did the servicing and ask?

SHould be done at 5 years or 60,000 on the 1.8, also make sure you have the water pump cahnged, as this is driven by the cambelt on the 1.8 ecotec
