Default EGR Valve on the 2.2 Petrol?

Don't suppose anyone's got a picture of where the famous EGR valve is on the 2.2 (non-direct) petrol engine (z22se) have they?

Mine's been struggling a little just after start up for a few seconds and has zero power until it's been revved a few times then suddenly it all picks up and goes, but the low end grunt seems to have gone too in the last few months so want to give it a good clean out and see if that resolves it.

Ahh, that's what the big pile of broken rust is on the right hand end of the engine, figures, I thought it was there but was kind of hoping it wasn't that as it looks like it's on it's last legs. Typical, more ****** money lol, oh well I'll rip it off first and see if it's salvagable.

    Thanks Sean.

Read up on a load of Rushy's posts and apparently the z22se is the only engine you can just blank the EGR off on without errors (as long as you leave it connected to the loom).

EGR Blanking plate ordered from the dealers and this is going to be done shortly so thanks Rushy

The EGR still needs to think its working, so the actual valve must be able to move even though its not physically connected to the system. If you need a pic of how to mount it give a shout and i'll post it up when I get home. Alternatively you can get a little box of tricks from the Z22 shop that you plug into the loom and you can then totally remove the EGR from the loom and car. VX's dont replace dodgy EGR's on the 2.2's they just blank it and disable it via Tech 2, the box of trick is a way round the Tech 2 but only costs a tenner.

Yeah, seen both options in previous posts of yours I read through yesterday and on z22se mate. Thanks, will hopefully just be locking it to the block in the way you showed so that the system still thinks it's there. Will give it a clean too even though I'm blocking the port off to make sure it operates properly just incase it's jamming
