    Default Original Parts VS generic/OEM

what experiences have people had when using generic parts instead of GM original parts ?

I know with consumables like pads, disks, spark plugs etc there probably is little difference if any.

but for larger items, like suspension parts, engine components things like that

    what's better quality wise ?

A lot of people use uprated components to improve handling and performance. how about people who replace like for like, but go for the cheaper generic brands.

I've had almost every suspension component under the sun changed on mine, and have been using generic parts for years now, but I find that they don't generally last as long, or aren't as well built. anybody had similar experiences ???

    Vehicle : Facelift Insignia/Corsa D

    Trim : LE/VXR

    Engine : 2.0 cdti/1.6 Turbo

    Year : 13/07

I once bought a alternator belt for my astra mk3 from a motor factors and it broke, so I bought another one and it kept throwing the belt off. I then went to the stealer and bought a genuine one and the shape of the belt was slightly different, I never had a problem again

Genuine parts always fit, or thats what i've found
