    Vehicle : Vectra Estate

    Trim : SRI

    Engine : CDTI 150 (Z19 DTH)

    Year : 2008

    Mileage : 100k

    Default Vec B GSI - 2.5 or 2.6

    As above.

If I was, say, looking into a Vec B GSI what would peoples recommendations be between the 2.5 and 2.6?

Is there a massive power difference?
    Any other big differences?

    Cheers Anthony

The 2.6 is the better car, IF your not planning on modding it. It's only 180PS compared to the 195PS of the 2.5.

But then again, the 2.6 is proven to be 180PS where the 2.5's tend to get anything between 175 and 190PS. The management is better on the 2.6 and it actually develops more torque than the 2.5.

The 2.6 is also one of the last veccy B's and are pretty much bullet proof.

    Thanks mate..

I think id come to the conclusion that if any the 2.6 was the better one...

Now its just a case of trying to find one that's got no rust and relatively low mileage that people don't want the earth for.........

The 2.6 tends to go for a lot more money. I loved my old 2.5

Im led to believe the 2.5 is a lot more tuneable though..

More probs with the 2.6.. 2.5 nice & basic > no silly pre-cats if u want to de-cat..

I had mine RR at 207 bhp ...2.5 sri

2.6 is better as it has bigger brakes & a few more toys (xenons etc etc)

    I'll run & hide now..

Looks like a nice 2.5 one here:

    2.6's are quite scarce..

    Yeah already asked

I have found it quite funny that they all tend to say "rare MSD" model... lol

I actually am after a standard one - no real mods etc etc.. Just a good honest, full SH car.

probably better with the 2.6 then mate as the more torque makes it a better drive ..
